Faint glows of skyscrapers and ambient light haze over a sleepy city. The sunrise and sirens shout, somewhere off in the not-too-distant morning studied from bed. Between sleep and waking: the pulsing beat of your own personal slumberland.

The scene is set for Clarisse’s debut, ‘Standing Ovation.’

Born out of a love for the 90s R&B/ hip-hop production of Timbaland, the ambient soundscapes of the almighty Eno and a longing for the jungle and drum and bass of an era since passed, Clarisse acts as a guide, taking your hand through a multi-emotional exploration of the inner self.
Although the Clarisse moniker is new, Keith Rich is no stranger to creating immersive journeys for the listener to follow, whether under his now-defunct MemCave moniker or as drummer for the band Druids.

The record is a solo walk at 4 AM in strange lands. A night out with friends and lovers. Time immemorial.

‘Standing Ovation’ operates as a film score for the mind—scene to scene—resulting in an ending of euphoric grandeur that nods to an end fast approaching but always looking ahead to what comes next.
